Shadowrocket Setup Guide
Start by verifying Shadowrocket on the App Store, then learn how to configure connections and routing rules on iPhone and iPad. Before importing, make sure you already have your own subscription or server details.
Compatibility and system requirements for Mac and Apple TV are listed on the App Store page. Buying the app does not include a service subscription.
Devices and where to get the app
Check your device, then open the App Store
Shadowrocket is a paid app for Apple platforms, available from its App Store product page. Before purchasing, check the storefront for your Apple ID, device compatibility, and the displayed price. System requirements are listed on the App Store page. These device links lead to relevant instructions; they do not start a connection.
You can also find Shadowrocket for Mac and Apple TV on the same App Store product page. Check that page for compatibility and system requirements.

From importing a configuration to checking your connection
These topics explain app features; they are not preset configurations. Start with your own subscription or server details, then choose routing, rules, and diagnostic tools as needed. In-app terms are kept in English so you can find them easily.
Routing rules: the first matching rule takes effect
In Global Routing, select Config and check the Rule section of the configuration in use. Rules are evaluated from top to bottom, stopping at the first match; more specific domain conditions generally belong before broader ones. PROXY, DIRECT, and REJECT send a request through the selected proxy, connect directly, or reject it. FINAL is the fallback when no earlier rule matches, so place it last. The example below demonstrates syntax; it is not a recommended configuration for any service. After making changes, check the results against actual requests.

On Demand: Connect based on network conditions
On Demand lets you set connection behavior that is triggered by specific conditions. Decide which Wi-Fi, cellular, or domain conditions should trigger a connection, then review each setting in the app. These conditions are not a single master switch. Check the connection in the relevant network environment after conditions change. If the connection keeps dropping and reconnecting, review the enabled On Demand triggers first, then check whether manual actions or a network change caused it.
Multiple protocols: Match the details to your existing server
When adding a server, check the protocol in your existing server details, then choose the corresponding Type in Add Server. Host, Port, authentication fields, and other protocol settings must match the original details; changing the protocol name alone cannot convert one set of settings into another protocol. If you import using Scan QR Code, check that all fields were parsed correctly. Protocol support and available fields are shown in the app. If a connection fails, review the information you entered before changing unrelated settings.
Subscription import: Use an existing link as an update source
If you already have a subscription link, select Subscribe on the add screen and enter your own link. After importing, check that the group and its entries appear, then select a server that matches your setup. Updating a subscription rereads the link; it does not verify that the link is still valid or that your network is working. If an update fails, check whether the link is reachable, its contents can be parsed, and your device has a network connection. This site explains how to import and organize subscriptions but does not provide them.
Configuration files: Tell rules apart from server entries
Config contains rules and related settings, while server entries provide the details needed to connect. They are not the same thing. Before editing a configuration, check that it is the one selected in Global Routing; otherwise, changes to Rule may not produce the expected results. A configuration may also include sections such as General and Hosts, so check what each section does before editing it. If you sync a personal configuration through iCloud, make sure the synced file is the one selected on your device to avoid checking the wrong file.
Diagnostics: Narrow down the source of a problem
If a connection is not working, start with the connection status on Home, then use Connectivity Test to check the current test results. A test result is not the same as how a particular website loads. Next, check the selected server, Global Routing, rule matches, and DNS settings. Avoid changing several things at once, so you can identify the cause. For further network troubleshooting, use Diagnostics in Settings. Data shows traffic statistics, which can help you review usage but cannot by itself confirm that a rule matched correctly.
For your first setup, follow this order: existing details → import → select Global Routing → connect → verify. Check the app after each step to help identify whether an issue comes from the information entered, the routing choice, or the current network. For step-by-step instructions, read the complete setup guide.
App authenticity and purchase information
Check these three details on the product page
The name in search results alone is not enough to verify the app. Open Shadowrocket’s App Store product page and check the developer, icon, and App ID in the page URL. Before purchasing, also check the price and compatibility shown for your current storefront. This is an official manual; refer to the App Store page for product and purchase information.
Developer, icon, and App ID
On the App Store product page, check that Developer is listed as Shadow Launch Technology Limited. Compare the official icon and check for id932747118 at the end of the URL. All three details should point to the same product. This site uses the official icon in its header and verification card, but the App Store product page remains the reference. Do not rely on the name or screenshots in search results alone.
Storefront, price, and system requirements
Shadowrocket is a paid app with a one-time purchase. The price shown on the US storefront can serve as a reference, but the actual price is the local-currency amount and checkout details shown for your current Apple ID storefront. Check the App Store page for device compatibility and system requirements before purchasing. If you change storefronts, do not assume the price or purchase status from another storefront still applies.
Purchase history and future updates
On iPhone and iPad, first confirm which Apple ID is signed in, then check the product page or your purchased items in the App Store. If you switch devices or reinstall the app, check your purchase history under the same account. Whether you need to pay again depends on the status shown by the store for that account. App updates are managed through the App Store. Check personal configurations and subscription content separately; an app update does not mean those have been updated too.
The app and connection service are separate
Buying the app does not include a service subscription. Purchasing Shadowrocket gives you the app; it does not automatically provide server details you can use to connect. The setup instructions assume you already have your own subscription or server details. This site does not provide, sell, or recommend servers or subscriptions. Shadowrocket is a closed-source commercial app. For feature or purchase questions, check the app settings and the App Store product page separately.
